Glendale pumping $29M into redevelopment

Over the next 5 years, the city of Glendale is spending $29 million to improve the commercial mix along Glendale Avenue.

City communications director Julie Frisoni said the city has budgeted $2.1 million over the next two years for redevelopment projects, $11.3 million for land purchases in the downtown area and $6 million to encourage citywide development.

She added the immediate focus of the economic development push is between 43rd and 67th avenues, which includes downtown Glendale.  Next month, the Glendale City Council will hold a workshop on the redevelopment efforts.
